Panda from Coffeyville, KS

I love graveyards, and while I was up at Spring Hill, I asked the gods and goddesses to please send me a wand. I literally took three steps and there was the most perfect oak stick lying in front of me... so I took it home, stripped the bark, and sanded it down. I love this stick and I don't want any crystals or fabric on it. My question is: the tree I think it came from was a grave marker tree, one of four at the back of the graveyard. Is it ok to use it? Or even have it? I'm not a dark person, but I love my stick. Please tell me if it's okay. I really need to know.

One more question...is it okay to use fossils or bedrock for rune stones? I'm super drawn to them :)

-------------

Dear Panda,

If you found the wand already on the ground, then of course it's ok to keep it as your wand. You asked the Lord and Lady to give you a gift and a gift they gave you.

Yes, it's ok to use fossils or bedrock make your own runes.

Andy from South Carolina *

When is it appropriate to bind or influense a person to leave? For 10 years i have dealt with an oppressive person, this person has started fist fights and verbal arguments, among other things. This has caused me to become a very angry and aggressive person. I can not take legal action as i have no basis to do so. I don't want to hurt this person, i just want him out of my life. Is it advisable to use magic in my situation?

-------------

Dear Andy,

I'm not sure what role the person plays in your life, but yes, you can use magick to influence this person to leave your life. I would suggest you start by reading my response to Jenny from Dale City VA.

Dani from Georgia

Last night, my husband and I had an argument (nothing serious, we were in foul moods, though some words were said that hurt both of us). This morning, I woke up and found a white ribbon on the floor, in a spiral with one knot at the end, next to a piece of broken glass. We haven't broken any glasses recently, though I do tend to find them after arguments with my husband (broken glass is a bit of a personal symbol for me, since I have broken glass and had glass broken around me in more abusive past relationships). I feel like finding the glass and the spiral of white ribbon isn't a coincidence, since neither things are common in our house and just appeared randomly. I've looked up some information on both of the symbols but I'm new to witchcraft and am not able to make the pieces fit, so to speak.

-------------

Dear Dani,

When we receive messages like that, it's usually personal to the person the message is meant for, and may not be meant for anyone else to understand.

I'll leave the broken glass alone since you seem to already have an understanding of its meaning. BUT I will say that if broken glass often appears to you in abusive relationships, then you may want to take a closer more honest look at your husband.

So that leaves us with the white ribbon. White is generally a color of innocence and patience. The spiral could be a sign for the Goddess, as that symbol is sacred to her. Now, if the spiral was moving clockwise it could represent the creation of something, but if it was moving counter-clockwise it could represent the destruction of something.

Do you believe Princess Diana is in heaven?

-------------

Dear Sheena,

I believe Princess Diana is at peace, resting from the chaos of her life, and awaiting to be reborn as a completely different person.

Sarah from Iowa

Hi, I've been dabbling with witchcraft for a little while now, and I've come to realize that I'm doing it as a means of comfort. There's a part of me that genuinely believes that the effects are all in my head, but the spells and the rituals are all so comforting to me. I think it's because I'm kind of superstitious, but in a really negative way. Like "if I don't spell everything right while I'm taking notes, someone is going to get hurt." Practicing witchcraft helps me take those weird superstitions and make them positive. Like "if I hold this stone while taking an exam, I'll get a good grade." It makes my superstitions a lot more healthy and positive, and I end up being a lot less paranoid. Anyway, my question is: is it okay for me to be practicing witchcraft if I don't wholeheartedly believe that magic is real? Would that be offensive to people that do believe?

-------------

Dear Sarah,

It sounds to me as if you do wholeheartedly believe that magick is real, because if you didn't, you wouldn't feel such a comfort and safety in it.

Brandy from Fairfax, VA

I'm trying to find out the true feelings of the guy I've been seeing for the last two years. I'm not sure how to go about that.

-------------

Dear Brandy,

I would question why you're still with a guy who hasn't made his feelings clear in two years of dating. I'd suggest getting a reading by my favorite tarot reader, John Marani.

Artik the Wulf from California

My name is Artik and I need your help. I have always had a deep interest in magicka and witches and things of the sort ever since I was young, but the god I once worshipped said these things were dark and evil. Since I've matured, the line that separates the light from the dark is so obscure and I am utterly lost in the universe that continues to swirl around me. I found this website by chance; maybe it's a sign to follow the path of magick. My heart wants to, but it is uncertain, probably because of my old faith. Do you think I should take the path laid before me?

-------------

Dear Artik,

I think you should take the path that makes your heart feel alive and at peace.
